VE ART Studio Summer Camp 2017 is all about having fun and being creative!
Our First Annual Art Exhibition and Auction in Cisco Systems was very successful!
This auction was not only beneficial for students but 60 percent of the auction price was contributed to a charity called March of Dimes.
The March of Dimes Foundation, established by Franklin Roosevelt, is an organization that aids the health of mothers and babies with disabilities.
Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen. ~Leonardo da Vinci
The Importance of Art in Child Development
Studies show that there is a correlation between art and other achievement. A report by Americans for the Arts states that young people who participate regularly in the arts (three hours a day on three days each week through one full year) are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, to participate in a math and science fair or to win an award for writing an essay or poem than children who do not participate.
What will your child be when they grow up? Who knows!
It's possible that your child’s future occupation, passion, or cause, doesn’t even exist yet! Our world is changing at lightning speed and we need to raise confident kids who can think out of the box and develop new ways of doing things, not only for them to lead a satisfying and rich life, but to ensure a healthy future for everyone.
Power of art
Drawing and art develop core creative competencies that can transfer to any thing your child aspires to do.
The great news is that as parents we can cultivate our children’s creativity THROUGH THE POWER OF LEARNING TO DRAW! VE ART Studio is the perfect vehicle to teach creative innovation. It's fun, confidence boosting and filled with opportunity for invention.
Benefits of Arts to Kids
Children naturally love art – painting, drawing, making music, the theater. Unfortunately, when schools cut back on budgets, the arts are usually the first to go. It seems that schools do not appreciate the importance of art in building a kid’s brain.
Physiologically, the human brain consists of 2 parts, the left and the right hemisphere. The left brain is used in logical thinking and analytical processes. This is typically what is trained in school work that consists of math, reading and science. The right brain is used in emotional perception, intuition and creativity. It is the right brain that is mainly used when a person is involved in creative endeavors such as making art. It is this part of the brain that typical school environment neglects to train.
It is shown that when gifted kids solve problems in their areas of giftedness, there is increased electrical activity in both hemispheres. It appears that for the brain to be efficient, the two hemispheres of the brains must work together. By stimulating and exercising the right hemisphere of the brain, the arts strengthen the connection between the hemispheres. Kids should be exposed to the arts as their cognitive skills mature so that their right brain will be as developed as the left, and both hemispheres work in tandem, thus achieving the full potential of the mind.

The art children enter should be their best work (it doesn't matter the skill level), teaching them that no matter what they do, they should do it well.
If they win, there's the fun of the reward and learning to be a gracious winner.
If they don't win, there's the practice of dealing with disappointment and being a good sport.
Win or lose, when your child creates a piece of art and enters it in a contest, she has tried, which is the first step to success.
Art Contests For Kids
We have a First Place winners in Challenger School Art Fair 2015 -
Sarthak Jain and Roma Kidambi.
We have a second place winner of November 2014 Look and Learn International Art Competition on the theme of Surrealism -
Sanika Yadav!
Congratulations! Way to go!
Art contests for kids offer great life lessons:
Every contest has guidelines and a deadline, which gives a child a specific goal to work toward.
The process of creating the artwork itself builds self-confidence, as the child goes from an "I can't draw" mindset to one of "I can enter this contest -- and I might win!"
